Insane 33 Megapixel 120fps Video Camera Captures 4 Billion Pixels Per Second

Media_httpimggawkeras_hmyfs

We've already brought you news that Japan's NHK was developing a mind-boggling 33MP video camera to capture footage for its new Super Hi-Vision format (7580x4320) that will one day supplant HDTV. But with a frame rate of 120fps, it means it's capturing some 4 billion pixels every second.

The boost in frame rate, from 60fps to 120fps, came in response to concerns that fast moving subjects might appear too blurry when shot at the traditional slower frame rate. Particularly when the footage was being watched on a giant display, like it's designed to be. So the frame rate was dramatically increased to ensure the imagery always remains crisp. And you thought your camera gobbled up the memory cards.

How to Stay Organized with the Tools of Your Craft

Media_httpfreelancesw_hjpic

While freelance writing is my main job, I also do some part-time work as a freelance photographer. Working from home and living in a tight space gets a bit hectic when I have cameras, bags, chargers, tripods, SD cards, DVD’s, hard drives, and more.

Some equipment is tiny (the SD cards for instance) and can get lost easily. Some of these items belong to specific equipment and cannot be separated from this set. “Okay, so this charger is for this camera…and this cable goes to that hard drive…”

A lot of freelancers I know (especially other photographers) get so passionate and involved in their work, that organizing their equipment is the last thing on their mind.

Infographic: What Would You Do With An Extra 2 Hours?

Media_httpwwwdomocomb_hbpqk

I’m a big believer in Friday nights and weekends being sacred time for family and fun (see #JJSR 35). Especially during the startup phase, work like a dog during the week, but make sure to carve out time for what matters most. Unfortunately, that model breaks down if too much of the work week is spent doing lame stuff…like looking for information or waiting for reports.

As it turns out, wasting time searching for data is a common problem. In fact, the average information worker spends nearly nine hours each week just looking for information. That’s almost two hours a day!

What would you do if the information you needed was readily available, giving you back part of that two hours every day? Check out this Domo infographic to see some of the most common – and surprising – answers.
